Amer Fort
Located in the town of Amer at a distance of 11 kilometers from Jaipur, Amer Fort is standstill on a hilltop called Cheel ka Teela. The 16th century monument was built by Emperor Akbar’s trusted general Maan Singh and includes a sprawling courtyard and a chamber of thousand mirrors.
City Palace, Jaipur
Situated in the city center, City Palace is a former residence of the royals of Jaipur, the head of the Kachawaha Rajput clan. Built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the palace has a sequence of gardens, buildings, courtyards, temple and museum.
Hawa Mahal
Reminiscent of the honeycomb of a beehive, Hawa Mahal is a five-storey palace in Jaipur. It is made with red and pink sandstone and was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. The palace boasts of 953 small windows decorated with intricate latticework in Rajasthan’s jharoka-style architecture.
Jal Mahal
Known as the Water Palace, Jal Mahal floats on the placid Sagar Lake. A former shooing lodge of the royals, the light hues of the palace is juxtaposed in contradiction with the blue waters of the lake. Its verdure interiors have been transformed into an ultra-exclusive restaurant.
Jagatpita Brahma Mandir
The Hindu temple is the world’s only Brahma temple and is in close proximity to the sacred Pushkar Lake. Dating back to the 14th century, the temple is made of marble and stone slabs, has a red pinnacle and a hamsa bird motif.
