Traditional keffiyehs
The classic Jordanian keffiyeh (scarf) is a of checkered patterns. The traditiona Bedouin ones are red and white while black and white are for the Palestinians. They’re sold at the most-visited spots in Jordan, and if you are lucky, there will be a quick lesson on how to wrap your head.
Hand-painted ceramics
Mosaics are a definite Jordanian art form but can be very expensive. All kinds of traditional pottery, mosaic-style and otherwise can be found all across the country, from the bigger cities to the smaller town
Ajloun olive oil
The Ajloun area in northwestern Jordan is known for its olives. Freshly picked olives squeezed into glass bottled make for a great souvenir.
Arabic sweets
The classic gift from Jordan is a tin of Zalatimo Sweets. Visit one of their 11 shops around Amman and choose your own the contents. The mini baklava or the pistachio nests called osh al bulbul are crowd pleasers.
Dead Sea mud
The brand-name Dead Sea mud is widely available in tourist shops. Scan local stores for reasonably priced small packets of the therapeutic mud.
