Some of the sights in this Middle-East country are truly extraordinary. And many have been written about but even through all its fame, there are some lesser-known ruins and even a museum.
Jordan is known for its ruins and architectural marvels but if one looks deeper. there is so much more that meets the eye. From a quiet museum, to a little city within a city, Jordan is a box of surprises. The Al Ma’wa Animal Sanctuary is one such surprise spot. Established in 2009 as a joint project involving Four Paws, an animal welfare institution based in Austria, and the Princess Alia Foundation, the nonprofit group named after and run by King Abdullah’s half sister. Within the large city of Amman, the oldest residence still exists, called Duke Diwan. Built in 1924 by Abdul Rahman Madi, the space at 12 King Faisal Street serves as one of the finest reminders available of the architectural heritage of Old Amman, a must visit spot.
