Canada’s Food Is Fun & These Dishes Will Prove it
It is hard to summarize a typical Canadian meal but at large Canada’s unique cuisine is an interesting mix of sweet and savoury dishes.
Larger Canadian cities serve everything from gourmet food to street snacks. Thanks to the fact that it is a multi-ethnic, restaurant-heavy nation, the food varies greatly from region to region. Some favourite local dishes include Salmon Jerky, Perogy, Ketchup Chip, Nova Scotian Donair, Caesar Cocktails and Beavertails. One cannot talk about the region’s food without bringing up the iconic Canadian pancakes. Traditionally thick and doughy, they are often stacked together and eaten for breakfast. Smeared with maple syrup, they are usually served with toast, bacon or eggs. Another must try is the classic split pea soup, a French Canadian dish. While camping, don't forget to indulge in some S’mores - made by roasting marshmallows between two graham crackers and some chocolate.
