Khandvi
A bright yellow finger food like a bite-sized snack, Khandviis also known as Patuli, Dahivadi or SuralichiVadi and is a Gujarati staple. While it is available around the state, some of the best ones are believed to be found in Ahmedabad.
Thepla
Every Indian traveller considers these to be their lunch box meals while hitting the road(or even a long-haul flight). Made of methi, these can be enjoyed at any time of the day, although a breakfast favourite.
Gujarati Thali
A platter of goodness, the thali has everything, from sweet to savoury. It is a meal fit for royalty with three sabzis, dal and an assortment of curries and bread. In Ahmadabad, some of the best thalis are available in Rajwadu, Toran Dining Hall and Agashiye.
Dhokla
Another tea time snack, Dhoklas are bright yellow, soft and fluffy with a tinge of sweetness and garnished with grated coconut. Surat's Mr Dhokla is a chain restaurant with some of the best ones available in the country.
Gathiya
Thick, crunchy and deep-fried sticks of goodness, gathiya are tea time snack and available all over the state, mostly in general stores.
